Chaco Bear

Gold – Copper Epithermal & Porphyry Targets

Overview

Northern BC's Stikine Terrane

The Chaco Bear property is located in the Omineca Mining Division, 150 km north of Smithers, BC. Access is primarily by helicopter from Smithers or via logging roads to the eastern side of Bear Lake.

The property is underlain by Hazelton Group volcanic rocks consisting of purple to green tuffs and agglomerates with epidote alteration. Mineralization occurs in quartz veins containing specular hematite and chalcopyrite cutting through the volcanic package.

Prospecting and sampling programs have yielded exceptional values, with select samples returning up to 10,530 g/t silver with 39% copper and gold values up to 25.5 g/t. Chip sampling across a fractured andesite yielded 90 g/t silver and 5.23% copper over one metre.

25.5 g/t Au Peak gold sample value
10,530 g/t Ag Peak silver sample value
39% Cu Peak copper sample value

Historical Exploration

Proven mineralization, largely untested upside

Imperial Metals conducted limited drilling on the northwest shear zone in the 1990s, with all five holes encountering mineralization. Initial exploration work identified both narrow high-grade veins and broader mineralized zones.

The extensive soil anomaly and numerous vein systems remain largely untested, offering multiple high-priority exploration targets.

Exploration Targets

Three defined target types

01

Epithermal Exploration

At least four defined epithermal targets associated with the extensive alteration centre — potential subsurface equivalents to the precious-metals-rich, world-class Eskay Creek Deposit.

02

Epithermal to Mesothermal

At least three defined epithermal-to-mesothermal exploration targets in intrusive centres. All targets have the potential to host world-class precious metals deposits.

03

Deeper Drilling Targets

Following extensive geochemical and geophysical work, the next step is focused deeper drilling: Area 1 – Gold Epithermal Zone, Area 2 – Porphyry Copper Target, Area 3 – Mineralized Maar-Volcano.

The Soil Anomaly

  • Northwest-striking shear zone with 300–400 m strike length
  • 1,500 × 600 m copper, zinc, and gold soil anomaly across the valley floor
  • Multiple mineralized quartz vein systems across the property
